The Simpsons are officially over

The first season of the Simpsons was set up to be an animated family show. With episodes that touched on preteen, teen, and family issues, they quickly became the cornerstone of millions of tv viewers. Over the next, oh 10 seasons, they quickly left the family issues and went just for laughs, which was ok. After the 18th season though, they have almost completely abandoned everything they had going for them, relying on secondary characters and totally unbelievable scripts.

There were episodes in the beginning that most people in America could identify with, like when Bart was trying to fit in and stole the town statues head, had trouble in school, and strained family/sibling relationships. Now, for the first episode of the 18th season, the gangsters son has trouble fitting in, becomes the head of the Springfield mafia, and kills three people.

So it's official, the Simpsons are absolutely and totally irrelevant and circling the drain.
