Jobs Jobs and more Jobs

I have officially gone from being jobless for a few months to actually having a choice to which job I want to take. God I love America.

Choice #1 Paradise Mall

Paradise Mall is one of those antique stores which basically rents booth space to people that want to get rid of junk. I would work as a cashier getting 6 an hour. Not alot fo money but a very easy job.

Choice #2 Rockin K

Waiter. 'Nuff said.

Of course I could do both, as long as I can work out some kind of schedule. I am just glad to finally have a job.

The Simpsons are officially over

The first season of the Simpsons was set up to be an animated family show. With episodes that touched on preteen, teen, and family issues, they quickly became the cornerstone of millions of tv viewers. Over the next, oh 10 seasons, they quickly left the family issues and went just for laughs, which was ok. After the 18th season though, they have almost completely abandoned everything they had going for them, relying on secondary characters and totally unbelievable scripts.

There were episodes in the beginning that most people in America could identify with, like when Bart was trying to fit in and stole the town statues head, had trouble in school, and strained family/sibling relationships. Now, for the first episode of the 18th season, the gangsters son has trouble fitting in, becomes the head of the Springfield mafia, and kills three people.

So it's official, the Simpsons are absolutely and totally irrelevant and circling the drain.

Wow this was one of my favorite tv shows ever, and with an all star (in my perspective) cast, its a win-win.

The weekend

Well I was sick on friday so we will skip that because I didn't do anything. Saturday was like most, drunken fun. I went to a "sorting" which I had never seen before. For the uninitiated, a sorting is a practice run for horse riders and team ropers. Basically a team of two on horseback tries to get 10 calves from on arena circle to the another in a very specific order. I know that it sounds extremely simple, but calves have a group mentality and you basically have to scare them away from the pack with your horse, and it can be very challenging. After that I went to a coming home party for a friend of mine who now lives in Lawrence. 2 kegs and jungle juice got me really liquored up. After that I went to Mark Smiths house, which was really not my scene, lots of jocks and pretty boys. So I left, and walked half a mile in the wrong frigging direction before I walked the mile home. And sunday I studied for a test. So that was really it.

They have democrats in Texas?

As the showdown between Clinton and Obama reaches a head, It seems Texas will be the deciding state. With 228 delegates, a win for Obama will pretty much put the nail in the coffin. But if Clinton pulls through, she will have the lead and be one step closer to the white house.

Satellite Shoot Down: How It Will Work

A new computer model shows a missile fired at an errant U.S. spy satellite will intercept its target with much of the rubble falling out and burning up upon re-entering the Earth's atmosphere. All I give a damn about is will I be able to see the explosion and the burning debris.

FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST! THANK GOD ALMIGHTY WE ARE FREE AT LAST!

It is about freaking time somebody said the same thing I have been saying for years, and as an added bonus they got published for doing it. Kay Hymowitz's article "Child-Man in the Promised Land" argues that the current situation of men is not to be blamed on "traditional" maleness like the feminists want you to think, but by the debasing of maleness. More and more men are pushing back life events like marriage, financial independence, and raising a family, for one night stands and beer binges.

Our western society, in an attempt to control the emotions of men, throw sex drugs and violence at us in thousands of different forms and prices so that the young and old, rich and poor can partake.

So let's review, if you give an 18 year old boy sex and violence in a civilized manner, why would he even consider trying to be a peaceful, law-abiding, woman respecting person?

Of course, I'm not arguing against drugs, sex, or violent video games, because I love them all. But I also yearn for a simpler time, in which you got paid for the honest work you did, and if somebody cheated, you shot or hung him, or sometimes both.

Over 400,000 unauthorized iPhones on China Mobile!

"That number, if accurate, is astonishing. It would mean that there are more unauthorized iPhones in China than there are authorized iPhones in Europe. It would account for the largest part of the so-called “missing” iPhones." Maybe Apple should do a better job?

Bill Clinton is a self-serving Prick

From CNN

Bill Clinton is saying the Barack Obama is ignoring his legacy. What legacy? Of getting a blowjob from a government clerk? Oh I see, as I read on, he thinks that Obama is ignoring any accomplishments achieved during the Clinton White House. Apparently, since Obama wants to move past the days of partisan politics, Bill thinks that means that everyone will now ignore anything thats happened over about the last 20 years in America.

Am I the only one who is seeing the bs of this argument?

Sources of Income

As a low-income college student, I often find myself strapped for cash. I mentioned in my first post my disdain over scams and bs ways to make money over the internet, but then I checked out googles adsense. This seems to be pretty legit, but I haven't yet figured out how to make money doing this. Has anyone had any success with this program?

Who does the whole World want as the next USA President?

Just so happens I agree with the vast majority of voters on this one.Seems there are many more enlightened people worldwide than some give credence to. I am glad they support the guy I like

PSU Career Fair

I attended the Pittsburg State University career fair today, and I was really pissed off. Not only was there no presentations from any company I wanted to work for, but the companies that were there, well it was all business and construction, with one for Mt. Carmel Medical Center.

So much for finding an opportunity to actually get a real job.

Jobless

Well God has seen fit to make me a poor bastard. I worked at Wal-Mart for over 2 years, and they fired me back in September because I "stole 11 minutes off the time clock." I think that they were looking for an excuse to fire me, because they could then hire a new guy who would get $1.20 an hour less in wages and wouldn't qualify for insurance.

Since then I have had two jobs, one as a dishwasher, which was just a temp thing. The other was for a company called Mountain West Research Center. This was a telephone survey company which I quit because I refuse to get cussed at just for doing what I am supposed to be doing. Call me picky.

I haven't been employed since mid-December, and I can really feel the pinch now. I have submitted about 50 applications since then, but no call backs.

I did receive some good news yesterday though. I am getting over a grand back in my tax return. So that will help me get caught back up in my bills, but what then? I dunno.

I have googled just about everything when it comes to free money, grants, and all that jazz, but 99.999999999999 of it is either a scam or bs. I've even considered government assistance, but I really don't wanna go that route unless I absolutely have to.

Any thoughts?

First Post EVER!

Well, as I welcome myself (although terribly late) to the blogging scene of the 21st century, I am reminiscent of an old friends webpage. My best friends brother, Riley, was very adept at computers and all that junk and started his own website called "the tempest". This was basically just for a circle of about 10 guys and we would post on whatever the hell we wanted to, similar to what I plan on doing here.

For my first post I would like to talk about the '08 Presidential election.

But before I go off and endorse anybody, I would like to say straightforward that it is not my intention at all to abuse any of the candidates or their beliefs. I am stating my own opinion, nothing more.

So it seems that since republicans are now exceptionally adept at doing whatever is in their best interest and throwing everyone else to the wolves, they have basically created a one party system, at least for now. There is no way that the republicans will even touch the democratic vote in numbers.

To be completely honest, Ron Paul has my vote, even if I have to write him in on the ballot. There are many issues in this country that I believe he has the only answer for, which is wipe the slate clean and start over. He is a strict constitutionalist, which means that if it isn't in the constitution, the federal government doesn't have the authority to do it.

But like all things this will create new problems. One of the first things he wants to do is get rid of the IRS. I have mixed feelings on this. Some of the tax revenue generated by businesses and individuals goes to low-income families. Since I am a member of a low-income family, I'm not sure how this would effect our income. Not to mention how it would effect communities which survive on federal money for roads and schools and such.

One of the things I like about him though is that he wants to do away with the "War on Drugs", which I support 100%. Never in the history of America has more money gone to something that has not done one ounce of good. In fact, I recently saw on CNN that drugs are now cheaper than they have ever been, so in reality all the "war" is doing is creating a supply/demand.

But between the two main democratic candidates, if I had to vote for one I would vote for Hilary Clinton. I have two reasons for this,

1. She wants to put more money into unemployment and medicare.

2. She has more experience in both domestic and international politics than Obama. Whether or not that's a good thing remains to be seen.

But for now I'll be happy writing in Ron Paul and wasting my vote on someone I actually want to win.
